ArcGIS Explorer 1500 released

Esri has released a new version of ArcGIS Explorer - 1500. This version was announced before the User Conference and it has new features mentioned in my previous post. More details are available on ArcGIS Explorer blog.

Main new features are:

• Integration with ArcGIS Online
• Support for ArcGIS 10 Image services
• New shapes for notes 
• Analysis gallery
• Export of map items as layer packages
• Query builder
• Fix broken layer paths

There are other changes and improvements but more about those when I test it. I have a couple of features that need testing so it shouldn't be too long before I post my results.

Esri has published a short video (1.5 mnutes) showing AGX 1500 at work.

Even if video is short it shows a glimpse at some of new features. These features include:

• Sharing of content (maps, layer packages and KML)
• ArcGIS.com content
• Query builder similar to one in ArcMap
• Replace, Move and Stamp of notes?
• New shapes for notes (circle, rectangle, arrow)
• Video stream integration?
• Fly along option for view
• Labelling using map tips or labels
• Enhance option on effects tab

I would expect that there is more than in this video but we will have to wait. Hopefully not too long.
